Road Map to Heading Healthy

Do you want to:

Lose weight?

Or get healthy?

Or get off your medications?

Or stop suffering from allergies, asthma, chronic pain?

 

Great!  So what is your first step?

It’s simple. All the goals you want to achieve can be reached with one easy action.  You just need to… right now… make the decision that it’s time for a change and that you are going to stick with it until you reach your goal.  If you can do that – you will have results – and it won’t take as long as you think.

The more of these steps below that you follow, the better your results will be and the faster you will achieve your goal.  Start off trying to incorporate a few of them into your daily life, and see how effective the results are.  You’ll be encouraged to try a few more:

 

Track what you are eating

Every bite and sip, know what you are putting in your body

Don’t cut calories too drastically

Calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and fill up your plate to reach it. 

Drink lots of water

Only drink water and unsweetened coffee or tea

Avoid sugar and grains

This includes sugars in your drinks, and fruits. Pay attention to nutrition labels for added sugars. 

Eat 7-10 cups of dark leafy greens a day

This will ensure you are getting your nutrients, and will keep you full!  

No snacking

Eat one or two big meals throughout the day.

Get moving

30 minutes a day, something as simple as walking. Divide it up throughout the day, if that’s easier.

Rest up

Go to bed when you know you should, and don’t take phones and tablets to bed with you. Aim for 6 or 7.5 hours of restful sleep.

Manage your stress

Make time for you, take up a new hobby, start a journal, make a list of why you are starting the journey to healthy.
